Hello,
I was wondering how this is profitable using eBay. I have used eBay for years selling this and that and I did go and buy 4 of these towels and 4 mitts to test the waters. I am selling 2 at a time giving free shipping because all the other sellers are and first class shipping is $3.50 plus the towels $2.00 so I need to make over $5.50 on an auction plus the eBay fees which I believe are 10% so I would have to make over $6.05 to break even. I see the same exact item selling for way less and free shipping. Some are from larger companies some are not. Am I missing something? How is a profit made? I really would like to learn more. Thank you for your time!
Mehgan,
Sometimes you simply get any cheaper than wholesalers trying to sell on eBay. However, you can find ways to save on shipping. For example, selecting Media Mail for shipments allow you to have pretty cheap shipments with a decent amount of weight, the tradeoff is the speed which it gets there. Also don’t just settle for eBay, try Amazon and Etsy. With Etsy, maybe you can turn the towel into a craft related item people can use.
Media mail is for media (books, cds, etc) only.
It is also subject to postal inspection, and can get returned to you, or shipped to your buyer as postage due (depending on where it was inspected)
I would guess most buyers wouldn’t be kind in their feedback ratings when their package was slow to arrive and came postage due because it was ineligible for the shipping service that the seller chose to use.
Just something to think about…
Media Mail is only for printed matter, such as books or manuscripts.
I can answer this better. You need to scale it. this is chump change. I can buy 1000 towels and easily make my profit margins lower. Product arbitrage is whomever has the deepest pockets and cheapest prices. you need to find a wholesaler. Buying at dollar tree is over-paying at retail pricing, when you should be getting it for pennies. Dollar tree is sometimes more expensive. Or try drop-shipping from aliexpress. you don’t even touch the products and only fulfill orders. Also ebay and amazon are reaching their peak. they charge huge fees for just using their platform and audience. Time to move to a free site.
Hey, I just read your reply to the Dollar Tree pricing and shipping I am wondering if you could give me some pointers on going through a wholesaler?
Thanks
Wow. Is it possible to make any profit from Dollar Tree? Or to make a decent income, does one have to go wholesale? Wholesale involves getting a reseller license and acceptance from a wholesaler. Also, have you made any money with Aliexpress? Thanks.
Example of a free site?
Thanks for the information great idea.
I’m in the process of getting my dealer’s license. Can I sell cars without a lot? I’m thinking of selling wholesale, I don’t want to sell to customers at this time, because I am new at this. I only sell to other dealers and at actions for now.
